And the number one rule, think B.I.G

And the best rapper's still B.I.G

As long as I'm here, I'm gon' keep doin' it, doin' it how I do it

When I do it best believe I be doin' it way big

We greet our guests at the door

With champagne and cigars that read doin' it way big

Chrome on the doors, stone on the floors

Fourteen karat gold paint on the walls

We swim in pools with marble waterfalls

Ball, baby or don't ball at all

My bathroom is Chanel, my bedroom Louis Vuitton

And office decorated in Ralph Lauren

I got a Versace couch and pillows I sleep on

With the matchin' robe and slippers, I beg to differ

La Perla lingerie, 'cause it fits my body

Get with us, we know how to throw a party

And you can't get in

Without a Queen Bee Members only jacket that reads doin' it way big

Anything we do we do it B.I.G

Every move we make is always B.I.G

And the number one rule, think B.I.G

And the best rapper's still B.I.G

Anything we do we do it B.I.G

Every move we make is always B.I.G

And the number one rule, think B.I.G

And the best rapper's still B.I.G

C'mon dice, one more time now, c'mon dice

And the best rapper's still B.I.G

Trey Songz - Just Not Fair

Here is Just Not Fair Lyrics by Trey Songz @ http://plazamp3.blogspot.com

Artist: Trey Songz

Title: Just Not Fair Lyrics

I can’t even breath,

‘cause You’re my air, you’re my air,

They say follow the good, will miss you, never live your strength,

They don’t understand how to keep up with me,

‘cause I’m a bad boy, Sean Diddy called,

Every city ..does the city on,

And at the same time I’m very regretful,

‘cause it’s the truth when I tell you that you’re special,

Only when I wanna hold, when the night fall,

..give me face time, no time, no Iphone .. skype ..

Chorus:

I can’t even breath,

‘cause You’re my air, you’re my air,

I can’t sleep at night, I can’t sleep,

You’re not, you’re not here, don’t wanna let you go,

I wanna, this I swear, but I gotta

I still love you girl,

But it’s just not fair of you, the things I put you through yeah,

It’s just not fair, so it’s just not fair.

But how can I let you girl,

When you’re such a special girl,

And just like the Jerry Cur you’re so glow,

Spirit of an angel, plus you’ll be the really shit,

When you … to my ship,

Ain’t no …nigger down everywhere you go,

Big booty…you’re my type, no stereo

Then the …you’re still …

Because… the other birds is chicken

Here we really call it mature

From mature, not to tell you all I ever do is failure,

‘cause never I can assure you that you’re different from others,

Even if that my most special moments spent when you were my mother,

Only you can have my deepest secrets,

Only you can have ..as soon you say this nigger

Only disappoint in me, ‘cause I’m having fun,

But…,if I know that you’re not disappoint in me

So I’m gonna let you go,

Girl if I can hold hard at my hands, I do it so deeply,

But I don’t wanna the blood at my hand

Even if I know it’s ‘cause of me

That you cry alone, sleep at night, sleep inside

It hurts that I can be the man, you need me too,

Still I know I need you,

http://plazamp3.blogspot.com/2010/11/trey-songz-just-not-fair.html

Chorus:

I can’t even breath, ‘cause you’re my air,

I can’t sleep at night

‘cause you’re not, you’re not here,

Don’t wanna let you go, this I swear,

‘cause I still love you girl,

But it’s just not fair.

I can’t even breath, you’re my air

I can’t sleep at night, I can’t sleep at night,

‘cause you’re not, you’re not here,

Don’t wanna let you go, this I swear,

I still love you girl,

But it’s just not fair with you,

The things that I put you through, yeah,

It’s just not fair.

"Once Upon A Time . . ."

Yesterday, from 11 am to 2 pm, the water was turned off.

The signs had been up at the top of the street since before Thanksgiving. I had duly made note of it. And then, promptly forgot it.

I didn't remember until I went to take a shower before running into town for an appointment. I stopped off first at the loo and when I went to flush, there was nothing. My first thought was that the toilet had broken, so I removed the cover on the back of the tank to check, muttering about how much money it was going to cost me to get a plumber.

It was empty. No water. What?

I turned on the faucet at the sink. Nothing. What?

Suddenly, my memory was flooded with images of the signs that had been at the top of the street: WATER OFF. November 29. 11-2. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

"No you're not," I grumbled. I was surprisingly annoyed. At myself for not remembering. At whoever "they" were for having the temerity to leave me without water when I wanted it. At not having water. Now. Right now.

The term, I think, is "On demand".

"For granted" may be more accurate.

After a bit of grumbling, I boiled up some of the water left in the electric kettle in the kitchen and made myself a cup of tea. I think it was more out of spite than an actual need or even want.

At some point, as I was savoring the taste and the warmth of the tea, I found myself annoyed that I had become annoyed. What's wrong with you? You have a lovely, cozy home with a window on creation. Your health is good. You have a fridge filled with more food than you can eat. A wonderful family. Good friends. Meaningful, compensated work. A little savings in the bank. And, you're going to grumble about not having water for a few hours?

What's wrong with you?

And then, her face came to me.

I don't remember her name, if she ever told me. It was 2005. I was in a remote village in Tamale, in the northern part of Ghana.

It was a scene right out of "National Geographic". Clay huts with thatched roofs and dirt floors. No electricity. No running water. Women dressed in garments made of brightly colored African cloth. Naked children scurrying here and there, giggling in the universal language of carefree, youthful delight.

Give a kid - any kid, any where - a stick and a round object to hit, bring along some other kids and, before you know it, you have a game. And, giggles.

Some of the women were returning from the local water pump, a miraculous new innovation which had recently been installed at the village well by a local Christian charity organization.

The women would gather in the morning in small groups of five or six and walk the mile or so to the well where they would, in turns, hand pump the water into large 20 gallon cans which they balanced on their heads.

I marveled at their strength and endurance and balance, even as I worried about how much it was, exactly, that 20 gallons of water might weigh and what that might be doing to their spinal column.

One woman saw me looking at her, slack-jawed and stunned, and smiled as she politely said, "Good day, madam."

I returned the salutation, after a bit of self-conscious stammering, and said something stupid like, "Oh, my, that must be very heavy."

She smiled kindly and said, "It is what we do." And then, smiling slyly, asked, "How else is it to be done? How do you get your water?"

"Well," I said, "I go to the faucet at the sink."

"Faucet?" she asked, feeling the foreignness of the word on her lips.

"Yes," I said, clearing my throat, "I suppose it's like a pump, except you don't have to actually pump. You just turn the handle and the water comes out."

She looked incredulous. I mean, it was enough of a miracle to her that one could now actually pump water instead of drawing it out in buckets and hauling it up the well to be dumped into her 20 gallon can of water.

"You just turn the handle? Oh, my!" She shifted her weight under her heavy load. I wanted to tell her that she could put it down for a minute while we talked and I would help her carry it back to her home, but before I could offer, she continued.

"And, where is this faucet and sink?"

"Well, it's in my kitchen . . . in the place where I cook. . .in my home."

"In your home?" she asked, again, astounded.

"Yes," I said. "Where I live, in the U.S., every home has a faucet with running water. Sometimes several. In the kitchen. In the bathroom . .. . "

And then, I saw her looking at me. She was no longer astounded. She looked . . . sad. Yes, decidedly sad. I immediately thought to myself, "Oh, no! I've become the 'ugly American', boasting of our wealth and conveniences."

"I'm sorry," I said, "I didn't mean . . . "

"Oh, no," she said. "It is I who am sorry."

I looked into her eyes and suddenly realized that her sadness was sympathy. She felt sad for me. Sorry. For ME. I returned her honest sympathetic gaze with my own honest confusion and curiosity.

She shifted her weight again, and sighed, "How do you tell your stories?"

"What? I mean, excuse me?"

She extended her hand to mine, as if she were consoling an impoverished person, and said, "If you do not have a well where you go and get your daily water, how do you tell your stories?"

Slowly, slowly, I began to realize what she was saying.

She was talking about the power of stories to build community. She was speaking the truth about how stories can inspire and educate. How they can hurt and heal. Stories are one of the building blocks of the formation of identity.

Poet and political activist Murial Rukeyser once wrote "the universe is made of stories, not atoms."

The woman I met in Tamale, Ghana, knew that and was teaching it to me, poor benighted soul that I am.

Shortly after I returned home from Ghana, I rediscovered a book on my shelf, "The Faithful Gardner: A wise tale about that which can never die," by Clarissa Pinkola Estes.

It begins with these words, "How did stories come into being? Ah, stories came into the world because God was lonely." It continues with an enchanting retelling of the Creation Story:
"God was lonely? Oh yes, for you see, the void at the beginning of time was very dark. The void was dark because it was so tightly packed with stories that not even one story stood out from the others.

Stories, therefore, were without form, and the face of God moved over the deep, searching and searching - for a story. And, God's loneliness was very great."
Estes continues her story of God creating the heavens and the stars and moons and planets, and the land and the waters and the air - and all the creatures of the land and water and air, and then writes:
"Yet even with all these wondrous creatures and all these magnificent stories, even with all the pleasures of creating, God was still lonely.

God thought and paced and paced and thought and finally! it came to our great Creator. "Ah, let us make human beings in our image, after our likeness! Let them care for and be cared for in return, by all creatures of the sea, all those of the air, and all those of the earth."

So God created human beings from the dust of the ground, and breathed into their nostrils the breath of life, and human beings became living souls: male and female God created them. And as these were created, suddenly, all the stories that go along with being completely human also sprang to life, millions and millions of stories. And God blessed all of these, and placed them in a garden called Eden.

Now God strode through the heavens, wreathed in smiles, for at last, you see, God was lonely no more."
Our bodies may not be able to live without water, but I think our souls die without stories.

Indeed, I think there is a Very Great Thirst in our land, because we have become disconnected from each other's stories. So, we become arrogant and petulant and easily annoyed by minor inconvenience - like not having water, clean water, flowing freely from faucets in our own homes whenever we want it.

Our world becomes smaller and smaller, until it revolves only around us. We become our own planets, in our own orbits, spinning in our own sense of infinity.

If we do not share our stories, why should we share anything else?

Gather a bunch of little kids and say, "Once upon a time. . ." and they will soon be gathered, sitting 'round your feet, listening. There's something of a little kid in each of us, waiting, longing to hear a good story. And perhaps, tell one of our own.

Indeed, our faith is not built on atoms, but on stories. Scripture is filled with them. Stories of scoundrels who became saints. Stories of betrayal and friendship. Of great vulnerability and bold courage. Of tragedy and triumph.

Stories are a part of how we know who we are. And, whose we are.

Estes begins her book with this benediction, "We have an old family blessing,
Whomsoever is still awake at the end of the night of stories, will surely become the wisest person in the world."
Stories, I have come to believe, are the water of life. They flow through you and they flow through me. The challenge is that they sometimes become frozen in place by greed or arrogance and need to be set free to be told and enjoyed and cherished, one by one.

This, in fact, may be why God created water. And fire. And air. And land. To give us a place where we may gather to share and be warmed and inspired by the simple stories of our lives.

So that we might share with others the abundance we have been given.

And, not be lonely.

I have been given a story of wisdom by the wisdom and sympathy of a very wise woman in Tamale, Ghana, who, I'm guessing, is the last one to sleep at the end of the night of stories.

May it be so for you.

May it be so for me.

May it be so for us all.

A Day To Remember Lyrics Its Complicated

Title: Its Complicated Lyrics

Artist: A Day To Remember

Here is Its Complicated lyrics by A Day To Remember @ http://plazamp3.blogspot.com

Here we go again, another night of being bombed

I can tell myself I’ll avoid this time and cancel plans with everyone

I know cause this is how it always ends

Our bond will break cause you can’t relate to anyone-to anything at all

You brought your worst and I’m right here

Though I’ve seen it all and it’s never been so clear

You’re not the person that I knew back then

It’s not to late to set this right cause everything has been

You’re not the person that I knew back then

Lets try and act like this didn’t happen

You follow your friends like you ever had them

You still know me, still not cut out for this sort of thing

Never wanna be caught in between, I need constant reminders of everything

SO WHAT

It’s who I am, I played it off so well I just hided it no matter how I been So nobody, nobody can tell

You brought your worst and I’m right here

Though I’ve seen it all and it’s never been so clear

courtesy of http://PlazaMp3.blogspot.com/

You’re not the person that I knew back then

It’s not to late to set this right cause everything has been

You’re not the person that I knew back then

Let’s try and act like this didn’t happen

You follow your friends like you ever had them

I won’t sleep till the break of dawn BREAK OF DAWN

I can’t wear our problems from in here

SO EVERYBODY COME ON

You brought your worst and I’m right here and I’ve seen it all and it’s never been so clear

You’re not the person that I knew back then

It’s not to late to set this right cause everything has been

You’re not the person that I knew back then

Let’s try and act like this didn’t happen

You follow your friends like you ever had them

You’re not the person that I knew back then

It’s not to late to set this right cause everything has been

You’re not the person that I knew back then

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

So I’m watching, for the first time, THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS and they’re showing these sprawling mansions – giant McHearst’s Castles, and at first you think – wow, wouldn’t it be great to live in one of those? And then you watch five minutes of these women and you realize you’d rather live out on the street in an empty Maytag box.

Oh. My. God.

I don’t understand. Television is not allowed to broadcast snuff films; how can they get away with this?

For those who have not seen it, this reality series follows the lives of six middle-aged Beverly Hills women who between them have had 46 plastic surgeries. They are:

Taylor Armstrong – a blonde with so much collagen in her lips that she looks like a bass.

Lisa VanderPump – British woman who must’ve told her doc to make her look like Diana Rigg but forgot to specify the young Diana Rigg.

Kyle Richards – Was in Disney’s ESCAPE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN when she was four. Has been getting elective surgery ever since. Although to be fair, looks the best of the group.  Once the others figure that out she'll be ostracized immediately.

Kim Richards – Kyle’s older sister. Former child star who has appeared in HELLO LARRY and numerous Disney movies like ESCAPE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN. She’s the one BHH who is not married. Her ex considers the divorce proceedings “Escape From Witch Mountain”.

Adrienne Maloof – Family owns casinos and sports franchises like the Sacramento Kings. Has managed to save a lot of money by actually marrying her plastic surgeon.

Camille Grammer – Former, uh… dancer. Married to Kelsey Grammer at the time this show was shot. I've met her a few times at FRASIER parties.  She always seemed very sweet.  Had no idea at the time she was an absolute certifiable loon.

Their bios on their home web page all make a point of saying how philanthropic they all are and how much time they devote to charities, but who are we kidding?  That's so you don't round up the villagers and march to their homes with torches and pitchforks.  These are the most self-absorbed, entitled, self deceiving, narcissistic six women since Marie Antoinette.

Here's what happened in the episode I saw. It’s probably not the latest; I caught it Thanksgiving night.

They’re all in New York (except Adrienne) for Kelsey’s opening of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES. Adrienne is back home because her uncle died and she had to yell at her husband for wanting a one-hour break to get a drink with his friends.

Back in the Big Apple, Camille and Kyle have had a big fight. Kyle called Camille the BHH equivalent of the “C” word – “insecure”. Much tension at the table as these coiffed hens picked at their pasta. At least I think it was tension. With all the Botox, it’s impossible to read expressions.

Now the big question: Should Kyle still attend the theatre opening? And to make the decision even more excruciating, she finds a dress she’d like to wear.  So we're talking "Sophie's Choice" here.

Meanwhile, Kim is upset because she’s the only one not married. This haunted her in her suite during their recent Vegas trip. She asks the others to try to set her up. Let’s see who they come up with. When does Bernie Madoff get out?

The real star of the series is Camille because she may just be the craziest person ever on television. Joan Crawford was the picture of mental health compared to her.

Every time Camille opens her mouth she says something deliciously insane. She claimed that all women are jealous of her because she’s married to a celebrity. (I guess they’re no longer jealous). As for Kyle, specifically, Camille spelled it out in detail. "In terms of pecking order, my husband is higher on the list. There's a big difference between that (being a celebrity and Camille listed all of Kelsey’s awards) and the local Beverly Hills Realtor." Damning words indeed from a former Playboy bunny.

At home Camille reads THE ART OF WAR, and surrounds herself with hairdressers, nannies, and some bootlicker named Nick. She talks to Nick about Kyle, "Her behavior was pernicious and I'll leave it at that." Of course, you’ll leave it at that. You don’t know what the word means.

Kyle tries to leave a voice message for Camille apologizing, but Camille found that disingenuous and pneumtramonoulicroscopicsilicovolcano,

Come the night of the gala opening, Kyle does attend. Hey, she paid for the dress. There’s a scene after the show where Camille goes back to Kelsey’s dressing room and he couldn’t have rushed her out of there faster if he had a hooker (or Kyle) under the desk. Frasier was more civil to Lilith.

Look, I feel bad for anybody getting a divorce. Especially when there are children involved. I can’t take sides in this case, even though I’m fond of Kelsey. I’m sure both are to blame, and the timing couldn’t be worse for Camille, so I wish them both well.

But this show is a one-hour justification for the Russian Revolution. These magpies with diamond rings the size of drinking tumblers, appear so unhappy in lives that most women would kill for.  And so one asks the question:  Are they really that superficial, that vapid; that disconnected to the real world? Or does their vain and silly behavior mask a legitimate fear?

Are they all secretly and justifiably terrified that there will be a sequel and none of them will be in it? THE REAL TROPHY WIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS.

she know me like a book, its too easy to read my ass

unhappy stressed, yelling don’t mislead my ass

Read J. Cole - Love Me Not Lyrics below:

Feel like she loves me

she loves me

and then she loves me not

she loves me not

feel like she loves me

she loves me

and then she loves me not

she loves me not

then she loves me not

[Verse 1]

Hey, I know that this aint nothing that you used to

out of the ordinary, unusual

I know you had your whole life planed out

so to watch this pan out I know this shit gotta confuse you

I know you wonder why i had to choose you

then wanna take you for granted or abuse you

so I’mma keep it honest

I think it’s a little ironic

if I hit another chick its gonna bruise you

shit, staring out the window of this plane

thinking if it crash, I’ll never see your ass again

wouldn't that be a shame

cause look at all the shit we overcame

made it through the flame and never got cremated

I made it to the fame and never got too jaded

all them other couples we f-ck with, secretly hated

flash forward it’s been year, we’re the only ones that made it

sh-t remember I was straying from home

and where I wanna be was my favorite song

sometimes I still be on my Donnell Jones

but I just can’t leave you alone

courtesy of PlazaMp3.Blogspot.Com

[Chorus]

[Verse 2]

she know me like a book, its too easy to read my ass

unhappy stressed, yelling don’t mislead my ass

I mean I make it so easy don’t please my ass

the shoe was on the other foot and you would leave my ass

its true that, true that

my song all on the radio

Who Dat!

am i so far gone, used to see both sides like the Mohawk on

now I know you wonder why this phone lock on

all this time I’ve been with ya you ain't used to do that

I loved you ass way before I knew you could wrap

the way you breaking my heart i should sue you for that

calling my uncles and my cousins have them do you for that

we had a deal you aint keeping up your end of the shit

in my mind I know she got the short end of the stick

trying justify it, man we finna be rich

and some bad b-tch I barely know sending me flix

[Chorus]

Oh Gilly why you been so silly? I wouldn’t have the ball to you if I didn’t like chilly

So why’d you go and do it everybody must have told ya

Oh Gillian McKeith, what are you doing on a armored suit … ?

I said I’m watching this belief as you’re passing down on the ground now every night on I tv

Well Gilly used to say she’s a doctor but she don’t have a PHD

And apparently now she’s a celebrity but she’s never been in any magazine

But clearly I’m wrong … is in the jungle, the recently … she’s been having a bit of trouble

Oh Gilly why you been so silly? I wouldn’t have the ball to you if I didn’t like chilly

So why’d you go and do it everybody must have told ya

Don’t go on that program if you got all kinds of phobias

Oh, Missis McKeith, you’re not gonna get any relief, cause the … causing grief

So the … gonna increase

Maybe it’s because you lied about your doctorate

Maybe it’s because you don’t like getting chocolate

Maybe it’s because of your obsession with poo

Maybe it’s because you look a bit like a goose

Maybe it’s because you’re pissing people off

Pretending to fall over every time you see a wasp

I don’t deny it must be hard to touch me to look tricky

But I ain’t tackle them a bit while I got … for Christy

Oh Gilly why you been so silly? I wouldn’t have the ball to you if I didn’t like chilly

So why’d you go and do it everybody must have told ya

Don’t go on that program if you got arachnophobia

Oh Gillian why you’re such a zillion?

First of all you must be getting paid about the million

You must of seen the show before with your eyes so reptilian

So I … and made yourself into a villain.

Oh Gillian McKeith.

Is this really love?

Who knows.

I tried to understand

Come with me to find

What everybody wants in life.

Do you know where it hides?

I don't.

Here I am one more time

With the same damn lives.

Is this really love?

Who knows.

I tried to understand

Who knows all there is to know?

Who knows how love is supposed to go?

Has somebody found it all?

Tell me please

Here I am down on the floor.

Am I doing this so wrong?

Tell me something if you know.

'Cause I know nothing.

Everything feels so right

Yet everything feels so wrong

Will this always be my song?

Say no.

courtesy of PLazaMp3.Blogspot.Com

We fight and then we don't

We laugh just to cope

Is this some sick joke?

Who knows.

I tried to understand

Who knows all there is to know?

Who knows how love is supposed to go?

Has somebody found it all?

Tell me please

Here I am down on the floor.

Am I doing this so wrong?

Tell me something if you know.

'Cause I know nothing.

There's gotta be a voice out there who answer prayers.

Answer me if you can.

'Cause You know all there is know

You know how love supposed to go

And I know you found it all

So tell me now please.

Here I am down on the floor

I know I'm doing this so wrong

Tell me something cause you know

God I know nothing.

Sophia Loren (born Sofia Villani Scicolone; September 20, 1934) is an Italian actress. In 1962, she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Two Women, becoming the first actress to win an Academy Award for a non-English-speaking performance, she won another 21 awards for that role. Loren has won 50 international awards, including two Oscars, five Golden Globe Awards, a Grammy Award and a BAFTA Award. Her other films include Attila (1954), The Pride and the Passion (1957), Houseboat (1958), El cid (1961), Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow (1963), Marriage Italian Style (1964), A Special Day (1977), Grumpier Old Men (1995), and Nine (2009).
In 1999, Sophia Loren was listed by the American Film Institute on AFI's 100 Years... 100 Stars as one of 25 American female screen legends of all time. In 2002, she was honored by the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) at its annual Anniversary Gala and was inducted into its Italian American Hall of Fame.

Early life

Loren was born in the Clinica Regina Margherita in Rome, daughter of Romilda Villani (1914–1991) and Riccardo Scicolone, a construction engineer. Scicolone refused to marry Villani, leaving her, a piano teacher and aspiring actress, without support. Loren's parents had another child together, her sister Maria, in 1938. Loren also has two younger half-brothers, Giuliano and Giuseppe, on her father's side. Romilda, Loren, and Maria lived with Loren's grandmother in Pozzuoli, near Naples, to survive.During World War II, the harbor and munitions plant in Pozzuoli was a frequent bombing target of the Allies. During one raid, as Loren ran to the shelter, she was struck by shrapnel and wounded in the chin. After that, the family moved to Naples, where they were taken in by distant relatives.
After the war, Loren and her family returned to Pozzuoli. Grandmother Luisa opened a pub in their living room, selling homemade cherry liquor. Villani played the piano, Maria sang and Loren waited tables and washed dishes. The place was very popular with the American GIs stationed nearby.
When she was 14 years old, Loren entered a beauty contest in Naples and, while not winning, was selected as one of the finalists. Later she enrolled in acting class and was selected as an extra in Mervyn LeRoy's 1951 film, Quo Vadis, launching her career as a motion picture actress. She eventually changed her name to Sophia Loren.

 Career

 Beginnings

After being credited professionally as Sofia Lazzaro, she began using her current stage name in 1952's La Favorita. Her first starring role was in Aida (1953), for which she received critical acclaim. After playing the lead role in Two Nights with Cleopatra (1953), her breakthrough role was in The Gold of Naples (1954), directed by Vittorio De Sica. Too Bad She's Bad, also released in 1954, became the first of many films in which Loren co-starred with Marcello Mastroianni. Over the next three years she acted in many films such as Scandal in Sorrento (1955) and Lucky to Be a Woman (1956). In 1957, Loren's star had begun to rise in Hollywood, with the films Boy on a Dolphin (her U.S. film debut), Legend of the Lost with John Wayne, and The Pride and the Passion in which she starred opposite Cary Grant and Frank Sinatra.

 International fame

Loren in the trailer for Five Miles to Midnight (1962)
Loren became an international film star with a five-picture contract with Paramount Pictures in 1958. Among her films at this time were Desire Under the Elms with Anthony Perkins, based upon the Eugene O'Neill play; Houseboat, a romantic comedy co-starring Cary Grant; and George Cukor's Heller in Pink Tights, in which she appeared as a blonde for the first time.
In 1961, she starred in Vittorio De Sica's Two Women, a stark, gritty story of a mother who is raped while trying to protect her daughter in war-torn Italy. Originally cast as the daughter, Loren fought against type and was re-cast as the mother (actress Eleonora Brown would portray the daughter). Loren's performance earned her many awards, including the Cannes Film Festival's best performance prize, and an Academy Award for Best Actress, the first major Academy Award for a non-English-language performance and to an Italian actress. She won 22 international awards for "two women"
Loren is known for her sharp wit and insight. One of her most frequently-quoted sayings is her quip about her famously-voluptuous figure: "Everything you see, I owe to spaghetti." However, on the December 20, 2009, episode of CBS News Sunday Morning, Loren denied ever saying the line.
During the 1960s, Loren was one of the most popular actresses in the world, and she continued to make films in both the U.S. and Europe, acting with leading male stars. In 1964, her career reached its zenith when she received $1 million to act in The Fall of the Roman Empire. In 1965, she received a second Academy Award nomination for her performance in Marriage Italian-Style.
Among Loren's best-known films of this period are Samuel Bronston's epic production of El Cid (1961) with Charlton Heston, The Millionairess (1960) with Peter Sellers, It Started in Naples (1960) with Clark Gable, Vittorio De Sica's triptych Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow (1963) with Marcello Mastroianni, Peter Ustinov's Lady L (1965) with Paul Newman, the 1966 classic Arabesque with Gregory Peck, and Charlie Chaplin's final film, A Countess from Hong Kong (1967) with Marlon Brando.
Loren received four Golden Globe Awards between 1964 and 1977 as "World Film Favorite - Female." Mid-career and musical recordings
Once she became a mother, Loren worked less. Most of her acting during the next two decades was in Italian features. During the 1970s, she appeared in such films as Lady Liberty (1971) with Susan Sarandon and the musical Man of La Mancha (1972) with Peter O'Toole. She was paired with Richard Burton in the last De Sica-directed movie, The Voyage (1974), and a remake of the film Brief Encounter (1974). In 1976 she starred in The Cassandra Crossing, a disaster film featuring such veteran stars as Richard Harris, Martin Sheen, and Ava Gardner. She also co-starred with Marcello Mastroianni in Ettore Scola's A Special Day (1977), an Italian film for which she was nominated for several awards. Loren then starred in the Hollywood thrillers Brass Target (1978), set during World War II, and Firepower (1979), that had a moderate success. In 1980, Loren portrayed herself, as well as her mother, in a made-for-television biopic adaptation of her autobiography titled Sophia Loren: Her Own Story. Actresses Ritza Brown and Chiara Ferrari played Loren at younger ages. In 1981, she became the first female celebrity to launch her own perfume, Sophia, and a brand of eyewear followed soon thereafter. She made headlines in 1982 when she served an 18-day prison sentence in Italy on tax evasion charges, a fact that didn't damage her career or popularity. She acted infrequently during the 1980s and turned down starring roles on the TV series Dynasty and Falcon Crest, preferring to devote more time to raising her sons. In 1988 she starred in the miniseries The Fortunate Pilgrim.
Loren has also recorded well over two dozen songs throughout her career, including a best-selling album of comedic songs with Peter Sellers; reportedly, she had to fend off his romantic advances. It was partly owing to Sellers' infatuation with Loren that he split with his first wife, Anne Howe. Loren has made it clear to numerous biographers that Sellers' affections were reciprocated only platonically. This collaboration was covered in The Life and Death of Peter Sellers where actress Sonia Aquino portrayed Loren. It is said that the song "Where Do You Go To (My Lovely)" by Peter Sarstedt was inspired by Loren.

Loren in Kenya while serving as Goodwill Ambassador in 1992
In 1991, Loren received the Academy Honorary Award for her contributions to world cinema and was declared "one of the world cinema's treasures." In 1995, she received the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award. She presented Federico Fellini with his Honorary Oscar. In 2009 Loren stated on Larry King Live that Fellini had planned to direct her in a film shortly before his death in 1993.Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Loren was selective about choosing her films and ventured into various areas of business, including cook books, eyewear, jewelry and perfume.
She received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in Robert Altman's film Ready to Wear (1994), co-starring Julia Roberts.
In the comedy Grumpier Old Men (1995), Loren played a femme fatale opposite Walter Matthau, Jack Lemmon, and Ann-Margret. The film was a box-office success and became Loren's biggest U.S hit in years. In 2001, Loren received a Special Grand Prix of the Americas Award at the Montreal World Film Festival for her body of work. She filmed two projects in Canada during this time: the independent film Between Strangers (2002), directed by her son Edoardo and co-starring Mira Sorvino, and the television miniseries Lives of the Saints (2004).
In 2009, after five years off the set and fourteen years since she starred in a prominent US theatrical film, Loren starred in Rob Marshall's film version of Nine, based on the Broadway musical that tells the story of a director whose midlife crisis causes him to struggle to complete his latest film; he is forced to balance the influences of numerous formative women in his life, including his deceased mother. Loren was Marshall's first and only choice to portray the mother. The film also stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Marion Cotillard, and Nicole Kidman. As a part of the cast she received her first nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award.
As of 2010 Loren is working in Italy on a two-part television biopic of her early life titled La Mia Casa È Piena di Specchi (translated My House Is Full of Mirrors), based on of the memoir written by her sister Maria.Loren's primary residence has been in Geneva, Switzerland since late 2006. She also owns homes in Los Angeles and New York.
In September 1999, Loren filed a lawsuit against 76 adult websites for posting altered nude photos of her on the internet.Loren is a huge fan of the football club S.S.C. Napoli. In May 2007, when the team was third in Serie B, she told the Gazzetta dello Sport that she would do a striptease if the team won.Loren posed scantily-clad at 72 for the 2007 Pirelli Calendar along with such actresses as Penelope Cruz and Hilary Swank Marriage and family

Loren in 1986, by Allan Warren
Loren first met Carlo Ponti in 1950 when she was 15 and he was 37. They married on September 17, 1957. However, Ponti was still officially married to his first wife Giuliana under Italian law because Italy did not recognize divorce at that time. The couple had their marriage annulled in 1962 to escape bigamy charges. In 1965, Ponti obtained a divorce from Giuliana in France, allowing him to marry Loren on April 9, 1966. They later became French citizens after their application was approved by then French President Georges Pompidou. The couple had two sons: Carlo Ponti Jr. (born December 29, 1968) and Edoardo Ponti (born January 6, 1973).
Loren remained married to Carlo Ponti until his death on January 10, 2007 of pulmonary complications. When asked in a November 2009 interview if she is ever likely to marry again, Loren replied "No, never again. It would be impossible to love anyone else."Her daughters-in-law are Sasha Alexander and Andrea Meszaros. Loren has two grandchildren: Lucia Ponti (born May 12, 2006) and Vittorio Ponti (born April 3, 2007). Filmography
